Greetings, FiveM community!
Today, we are here to provide you with a comprehensive tutorial on how to become an admin on FiveM servers. We will explore the process for three popular frameworks: ESX, qbCore, and vRP. Admins hold significant responsibility in managing the server, as they possess the authority to regulate in-game elements, enforce rules, and assist players.
However, it’s crucial to emphasize that acquiring admin privileges necessitates obtaining explicit permission from the server owner or an authorized individual. Any unauthorized attempts to gain admin access may result in severe consequences, such as bans or other penalties.
By adhering to the instructions tailored to your specific framework (ESX, qbCore, or vRP), you can successfully establish yourself as an admin on a FiveM server. As an admin, your role will encompass the vital task of overseeing and upholding a balanced and enjoyable gaming atmosphere for all players. However, it is crucial to exercise caution and verify that you possess the necessary permissions before making any modifications to the server’s settings.
It is essential to obtain proper authorization from the server owner or an individual with the necessary permissions before attempting to add yourself as an administrator. Unauthorized endeavors to acquire admin access may result in severe consequences such as a ban or other disciplinary actions.
ESX
Here’s a step-by-step guide to locating and modifying the server.cfg file:
- Navigate to the server-data folder where the server.cfg file is typically located.
- Launch a suitable text editor like Notepad++ or Visual Studio Code.
- Open the text editor and select the “Open File” option.
- Browse to the location of the server.cfg file and open it.
- Scan through the contents of the server.cfg file to familiarize yourself with its structure.
- Look for the section that starts with “add_ace group.admin” within the file.
- Insert the following line below that section: add_principal identifier.steam:<your_steam_id_64> group.admin
- Replace “<your_steam_id_64>” with your actual SteamID64. You can find this information on websites like steamid.io.
- Save the modifications by selecting “Save” or “Save As” from the text editor’s file menu.
- Close the text editor to finish the editing process.
To apply the changes and activate the admin privileges:
- Restart the server completely. This can typically be done by stopping the server and then starting it again.
- Once the server has restarted, you should now have administrative privileges, granting you the necessary access and permissions on the server.
QBCore
- Begin by accessing your server’s database management tool, such as phpMyAdmin. Log in using the appropriate credentials.
- Once logged in, navigate to the database associated with your server.
- Locate and select the “users” table within the database.
- Use the search or filter function within the database management tool to find your account. Look for your SteamID64 in the “identifier” column.
- Once you have located your account, locate the “group” field associated with it.
- Edit the “group” field and change its value to “admin” to grant yourself admin privileges.
- After making the necessary changes, save the modifications to the database.
- Close the database management tool, ensuring that all changes are properly saved.
- To apply the changes, restart the server completely. This can usually be done by stopping the server and then starting it again.
- Once the server has restarted, you should now have administrative privileges, allowing you to access and utilize the admin features on the server.
vRP
- Start by logging in to your server’s database management tool, such as phpMyAdmin or a similar tool, using your appropriate login credentials.
- Once logged in, locate and open the “vrp_users” table within the database.
- Use the search or filter function within the database management tool to find your account. Look for your SteamID64 in the “identifier” column.
- Take note of your “id” value associated with your account in the table. This information will be needed in the next step.
- Navigate to the “vrp_user_groups” table within the same database.
- Add a new row to the “vrp_user_groups” table. In the “user_id” column, enter the “id” value noted in step 4. In the “group” column, enter “superadmin” to assign the superadmin group to your account.
- Save the changes you made in the database management tool, ensuring that all modifications are properly saved.
- Close the database management tool to complete the process.
- Restart the server completely to apply the changes. This can typically be done by stopping the server and then starting it again.
- After the server has restarted, you should now have administrative privileges, granting you access to admin features and functions on the server.
